The AFC Bournemouth Football In The Community Department has expanded to become the AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust.

The organisation will reach out into the local community like never before offering new opportunities for local children to benefit from the activities undertaken by the club.

The Sports Trust has been granted charitable status allowing the department to access a greater depth of revenue streams and to become a greater asset for the town of Bournemouth.

All of the current activities run by the scheme will continue to operate as normal and details of coaching, birthday parties, soccer schools and a whole lot more can be found on the table above.

In its current form, the department are reaching over 45 schools and 1,700 children a week. Extra staffing levels and a wider range of activities will enable this to expand further.

Head of the new Trust Steve Cuss said, "Over the five years I've been here we've always totally focused on football. This new development will allow us to expand into other sports and get into more schools in the process.

"We will be working closer with existing groups and forging new partnerships while the activities we do continue to broaden. Our aim is to provide a greater contribution to the local community."

The AFC Bournemouth Sports Trust will officially launch on the home Boxing Day game against Leyton Orient. There will be plenty going on throughout the day in what is now a Silver category game for match tickets.
