Boss Hails 'Important' Win - Bond looking forward to Doncaster
Doncaster Rovers are likely to prove a much sterner test than a Luton Town side without a win in seven league matches, but Kevin Bond said it was an important game to win and was pleased how the players reacted.
Having been two goals up against Luton only a few weeks ago to see the lead slip, Bondy was also pleased how the team not only continued the scoring touch up front, but also a solid defensive performance.
The Manager said, "It was a great win; an important win on an important day. The conditions and pitch were difficult so it was always going to be a game where mistakes would happen and thankfully it was our day. There's no doubt we deserved the win and we've got to carry that forward
"We started with two really well taken goals and then Max scored a terrific goal. The game is never over as we found out last time we played them so we definitely didn't get complacent.
"It was a bit edgy when they pulled one goal back, but on reflection they didn't have many opportunities over the course of the game and we weathered any pressure well. The longer the game went on the more likely we looked to score another and we did so we're all looking forward to Tuesday's game."
