Pressure's On Leeds Says Bond
Pressure's On Leeds Says Bond - Gaffer previews weekend showdown
Cherries Manager Kevin Bond says the pressure is all on Leeds as his threadbare squad travel to Elland Road for tomorrow's League One encounter.
Bond says his players must look forward to the game and not be fearful of the opposition. He added confidence could be drawn from an impressive display against them at Dean Court earlier in the season.
Previewing the game Bond said, "It's a great game for everybody to play in and for us it's a big game in any circumstance. It's a fantastic stadium and always nice to pit your wits against a big club. They're in our league, but they are a massive club so it's a game I want everyone to look forward to.
"I've tried to take any pressure away from the players because you can't perform well under pressure. The only pressure is your own expectation level and what you expect from yourself. We'll go there and work as hard as we possibly can and try to make things as difficult as we can from them.
"We'll try and play to the best we can while we've got the ball and we'll go out there and endeavour to enjoy the game. You generally find if you have enjoyed the game you've played well.
"I don't want them to be fearful in any way and it's a game they should look forward to. The players should go out and want to play in the match and take these challenges and that's the mentality I'm looking for.
"Whilst we got beat at our place I thought we put in a decent performance against them. It proves we can compete with them. I know on occasions Leeds haven't been as convincing as they'd like. Playing at home there will be a level of expectation so the pressure will all be on Leeds United and not us."
