Second Goal Was Key Says Bond - Reaction from Walsall

Here are Kevin Bond's thoughts of the weekend win at Walsall

"It was a terrific win and a terrific performance. There some good displays and I'm pleased to go into next week's game still in with a chance of avoiding the drop. It never feels comfortable, but looking back on it maybe it was a little, but mainly due to the fact the two centre halves for us were fantastic. The goalkeeper has also been solid and it's been re-assuring to have him behind them.

"We started well and got a goal in front. I was disappointed with the goal we conceded, but if we had a stroke of luck on the day it was going back in front almost immediately. It was really important to get that goal as we were in charge of the game and it was disappointing to find ourselves level so it was pleasing to get in front again so quickly.

"We were causing them problems forcing them to change their shape and in the second half we got that third goal, which we needed to calm things down a little.

"Jo has done excellently since just before Christmas. He's a real handful and shown what a good player he is. Having some competition for places is a really nice problem to have and one which I haven't had for many a month.

"Even the lads who aren't playing are up and down on the touch line when things happen just like we are so everyone is battling for one another and that's just what we need right now."
