Football League Community Cup
The final of the Football League Community Cup took place at Dean Court on Tuesday with Ferndown Middle School beating Haymoor Middle School 2-1.
AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust organised the six-a-side competition which started in the beginning of March and involved 26 schools, two separate competitions brought Haymoor and Ferndown together for the AFC Bournemouth Grand Final.
An exciting match saw Haymoor take a half time lead before Ferndown stormed back during the second half to win the game.
Ferndown Middle School will now represent AFC Bournemouth in the League 1 Southern Final at Leyton Orient FC on the 25th April. The winners of this will play the Northern Winners at Wembley Stadium prior to the League 1 play off final.
Steve Cuss, Head of AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust said "This is the fifth year the competition has run and this year saw the highest ever number of schools enter.
The standard at both events was extremely high which culminated in an outstanding final between two evenly matched schools here at Dean Court. I would like to wish Ferndown Middle School the best of luck in the Southern Final and hope they can achieve their Wembley dream".
